 OVERVIEW

The bluegill is the one fish almost everyone recognizes. It's usually the
first fish we've all caught as kids, and it's a great subject to tackle as a
first fish carving. Basic fish anatomy, techniques for fin carving,
detailing and insertion, scaling, painting, and habitat construction are
all covered. Instructor's teaching aids include a cast specimen, works in
progress and photo reference. It is important to note the amount of
"homework" associated with a carving course of this level. It is
recommended to plan for approximately 2 hours of homework for
every hour spent in the classroom. Otherwise, it may be difficult to
finish the piece within the time allotted for the course.
